Cal State Monterey Bay to Host 13th Annual President's Cup Golf Tournament at Corral de Tierra Country Club
Cal State Monterey Bay Athletics is hosting the 13th Annual President’s Cup Golf Tournament on Monday, October 5, 2009 at Corral de Tierra Country Club.
"Cal State Monterey Bay Athletics is very excited about this year’s President’s Cup," said Director of Athletics Vince Otoupal. "We are fortunate to host our tournament at Corral de Tierra Country Club. This is a prime example of the ‘victories’ that we talk about every day.
"It’s a time during the year when we get our student-athletes, coaches and administration out together to meet and interact with our friends, partners and supporters."
All proceeds from this annual event directly benefit the nearly 300 student-athletes competing in 13 NCAA Division II sports at Cal State Monterey Bay. Considering the rising costs of running a highly competitive NCAA Division II program and the current state of the CSU Budget, the need for private support greatly increases, making CSUMB’s fundraising goal through this year’s President’s Cup Golf Tournament more important than ever before.
Enjoy a day of golf at Corral de Tierra Country Club, a private facility nestled among the verdant, rolling terrain of the Monterey region. Guests will be treated to a continental breakfast and a post-round lunch reception catered by Corral de Tierra Country Club. The $200 entry fee is all-inclusive and includes: course fees for a individual, cart, continental breakfast, lunch, exclusive tee prize, long drive, accuracy and closest to pin contests. Corporate Foursomes are $1,000, which include a sponsor tee sign and event recognition. Space is limited, visit www.csumb.edu/presidentscup for registration and sponsorship information.
This premier event is also a great opportunity to learn more about the Cal State Monterey Bay and meet University members – including the president, athletic director, coaches and staff, who all have active roles in the annual President’s Cup Golf Tournament.
"This will be a first class event at Corral de Tierra Country Club, our most recent corporate partner. This private club is one of the oldest and best courses in the area and I am personally very excited to get out and play," said Otoupal. "This event will be great for our Athletics Program and University.
"Playing at Corral de Tierra will enable us to continue to foster relationships with our local communities and friends."
Cal State Monterey Bay also welcomes corporate sponsors for the event. If you have interest in sponsorship opportunities for the 2009 President’s Cup Golf Tournament, please contact Kirby Garry at (831) 582-3051 or kgarry@csumb.edu.
