Health and Harmony

Greetings in these
interesting, transformative times. We are still in the midst of
financial uncertainty, aren't we? It looks like a mess, to be sure, but
what we think of as a catastrophic crisis can always be handled
skillfully, even if you are in the very middle of it. The first
task is to separate catastrophe from opportunity.
A simple task you can do
to find the opportunities in life’s uncertainties, or when anything
happens in your life that overwhelms you, is to make a list. When
something happens in your life that you don't like, that brings worry or
fear, the simple act of writing down what you would rather see happen
can bring surprising results. You just might be amused at what occurs on
your behalf.
Let’s do
it now. Take a piece of paper and write at the top: I now accept all
this or better. Under this heading, write what you want. Do not
write what you don't want.
Here are
some examples:
- Steadily
increasing income
- Regular
deposits to my savings account
- Secure
retirement savings
- A great new job
I enjoy
- Greater
vitality, good health
- Time with my
grandchildren
- Good
relationships with mutual trust, love, respect
- Finish my
memoir and find a publisher
If we
could do a study of the people that made a list and those who didn't, I
think we would find that the ones who made a list and focused on what
they wanted to see happen were more successful and happy. Next time,
we’ll discuss another component of the list: how to release your mind so
that the things on your list come more easily.
